So day 1, the best book I've read this year.
Oh boy oh boy this is harddddd (because you know how many books I read this year?!?!)
But after hours (no, really.) of pondering
I have to say.
I've got your number by Sophie Kinsella!
It's incredibly witty and the characters are not those perfect kinds that you know you'll never meet in real life.
I guess I like to read books with perfect characters sometimes (you know, so I can fantasize like a girly girl) but it can be quite depressing to always dream about some hero without flaws sweeping you off your feet on one fine day, when you know it's never going to happen. Sooo,
The male lead in this book is, well, tall dark and handsome but he's all stiff and unemotional and nonchalant about everything.
Whereas the girl, is kind of always in a frenzy, totally ordinary and cute.
The author also focused a lot on texting (yes, like real mobile phone texting) which makes the title relevant still :-)
And in the end when the guy sort of warms up to the girl and they text cute stuff to one another ITS JUST SO CUTE.
I knooowwwww how gay I just made it sound but it's a really sweet book and it makes my stomach feel all fluttery and I just can't stop smiling when I think about it.
And needless to say, it's a love story.
Because I'm a (romance novel junkie) hopeless romantic, of course.
If romance is not your type then this is so not for you. But if it is, I say you read this book!
You can thank me later (when you feel all fluttery too.)
Here's a kitty cat photo to make the post look less wordy.
Anyway, went to Aunty Ada's shop to get my dress done today!
Yes. Finally. The dress thing is over.
Aaaaand now we have the shoes and accessories.
I would love to wear slippers there but you all know I can't. Plus bel will hack my body into pieces if I do.
And I don't want to be the shortest girl since also everyone will be wearing heels. So I guess I'll have to look for stilettos or pumps. Meh.
I know this doesn't look at all appetising but first time trying okay!
So there you go guys, my strawberry jam cheesecake.
I didn't think it was good (because I generally don't like cheese and the smell of cream cheese yesterday apparently fueled this dislike of mine) but surprisingly Olivia and Bel said it was good! G O O D !
*happy dance*
Well, as long as they like it :-)
xxx
“I’ll have to admit, he does have quite a smile. Kind of heart-stopping, especially as it comes out of nowhere. I mean… you know. If your heart was in the kind of place to be stopped.”
-Sophie Kinsella; I’ve Got Your Number
P.S. If you've read it and want to spaz about the book with me...
