Prom night.
I've been waiting for this day for ages because in American shows and books it's always prom this prom that.
Heh
Well after the Cambodia meeting bel and I had in the morning, Olivia and I met up to go to the salon to do our hair!
Looks kind of gross here but it got better in the end (':
After that we rushed to Grand Copthorne Waterfront hotel where we booked a room for prom night! Woohoo!
The room was pretty spacious and the best part?
The walk in wardrobe!
We were all sprawled across the bed like pretzels and bel tried to be annoying by squirming up to me like a wiggly worm. We all laughed and shrieked like crazy and it was just a nice fun time with my girls (':
After that things started to get serious and all rushed because we were all like "guys! Time check time check!" "Olivia you gotta do your make up!"
And me trying to decided if I should put make up or not and I decided to go with not.
But it all ended with wonderful results. We were all quite prettied up and ready for prom!
Bel was all classy and honestly, I think she looked the most special with her gold dress.
Olivia was all cutesy with her little hat and brooch and she sort of reminded me of a British girl.
Yu wan was just plain sexy. All that curves and body-hugging velvet. Meeeoww. Plus the red hair that's all fiery and not too red till it's like hoe-red.
And I, pretty much looked like I was a bride (': but the dress was wonderful all thanks to my Aunty Ada! She owes a shop near Concorde called Martini-g. It sells beautifully hand-crafted (sewn) gowns and dresses for various functions so go check it out if you want to get married or something alright.
We had various performances! Like from Yong Kang and band, and Aavan and band, a solo from Zhen yi, Bhangra dance from Sarim with the beatboxing, and lastly, the dancers.
Oh the dancers. They're so fantastic. And I'm just so proud of Jeannette! She's living proof that ballet girls can do hip hop. You go, girl!
Also played a couple of games but.... I'm not going to talk about that HAHA

Sooo, there was this matter of Prom king and queen....
each table was given 3 votes for king and another 3 for queen. Then the results will be collated to pick out the top 4 or 5 of each gender.
So in the end,
Calista, Joanne, Adele, Sarah Joe and I got picked, and for the guys, Adam, Nabil, Ee Jian and Armaan got picked.
So we were all suppose to face the back drop while the rest of the students like up behind the person they were going to vote for, the girls only voting for guys and guys only voting for girls.
I thought it wouldn't be scary but DAYUM, it was scary.
Well, I'll just save you the suspense and show you this
And Adele and I were left on stage in the end.
Well, honestly I wasn't pining for the Prom Queen spot or anything so I was totally cool with Adele winning.
I think she deserved it because well, she's very sweet plus she looked gorgeous that night (and every other day too weeowee)
But ahh I was prom queen in the end and..
GAWD. Do you know how stuck up it feels to be saying this?! I can't put it in a nicer way but yes, I am actually very happy I won. (:
And my mother was even more ecstatic.
Mum: oh thank god you gotta thank aunty Ada and did you put make up? Was it becoz of the earrings? If people have negative comments don't care about...... (On and on)
Dad: congrats. Enjoy.
Prom king was Ee Jian! Congratulations to him (:
Haha it was pretty awkward on stage because we didn't know each other so we kind of like nodded politely and shook hands on stage in front of 300 plus people BUT.
All is well! I really thank God for this wonderful chance to be prom queen and this sounds very asdfghjkl but thank you to those who voted for me :-)
I think we look nice here (HAHAH shamelessly complimenting us)
After everything.. My girls and I went back and from 2 onwards we talked until about 4 plus and we just went to sleep.
It was such a good good day. And I'm so so tired right now actually but thinking about prom really makes me smile (:
I know this isn't a very good blog post about prom. Perhaps you should read Isabel's blog (it's waaaaaay better)
But I don't really know how to describe everything that happened! The feelings, actions, expressions, everything! They're so hard to put into words. So yeah I can just tell you that the night was fabulous :-)
And I'm really really glad to have won Prom Queen. Really. I never thought I would have and I really thank God for giving me this honour ^^
